FastPictureViewer Pro – Useful Tool to View Photographs
If you want to watch a digital photo on your Windows-powered PC, there are two roads you can follow. You can for example stay on Microsoft Street and use the default image viewer that comes with the operating system. The downside is that the default program is neither the best looking nor the most efficient image viewer out there. Also, the number of supported graphical formats is extremely limited. For that reason you could stray off Microsoft Street and go on 3rd Party Avenue where you will find applications developed by other software developers. You could for example find an application like FastPictureViewer Pro. This program tries to fill the gaps left behind by the default image viewer that comes with Windows.
The program has a common installation process and, thus, can be completed by most users, even by beginners. It takes up little disk space and doesn't have more than average system requirements, even if we are talking about large images.
FastPictureViewer Pro has a minimalist user interface that should not pose a problem to any user. Regardless if you are a complete newbie or an advanced computer user, you will find that using FastPictureViewer is a straightforward process. You will find the dark, minimalist interface that puts the emphasis on the pictures and not on the application, a refreshing change to the default image viewer in Windows.
Speaking of using FastPictureViewer, you will also like that the application works with just about any version of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system. It works with the old but popular Windows XP, with the much avoided Windows Vista, and also with the latest and greatest, Windows 7.
For getting the application to work and display images, the user just needs to select the desired image folder. By default, the program looks for photos in My Pictures folders. Besides displaying all the images contained by the folder, FastPictureViewer Pro shows information regarding every image, like the place it was taken, if this information is available and some EXIF data, like the type of digital camera used or the time the photo was taken. Right-clicking on the photo will allow displaying it in full size.
Pros:
The software has a nice materialistic interface, which is ideal for beginners. It also displays information for every photo, like the place and the time it was taken.
Cons:
It might be considered too simple by advanced users.
FastPictureViewer Pro is a great software for viewing any type of photo, successfully replacing the default Windows photo viewer.
· Users must install the Windows Imaging Component prior to installing FastPictureViewer
